About me

I am Yana Bebieva, a fifth-year graduate student studying physical oceanography with Professor Mary-Louise Timmermans in the department of Geology and Geophysics at Yale University. My primary research focuses on the dynamics and thermodynamics of the Arctic Ocean. In particular, I use a combination of theoretical modeling and data analysis (ocean observations from the extensive Ice-Tethered Profiler dataset) to examine the processes responsible for ocean heat transport in the Arctic Ocean. The Arctic interests me scientifically as a region of enormous climatic importance, while it remains an area with many fundamental questions to be explored.
